Using the calendar
The calendar
The calendar can be accessed by clicking the calendar option in the Tools menu.
The current day view
The current day and date page shows up. On the right 4 months of the year are shown. When
the arrow on the left side is selected the month is moved back a month and if the arrow on
the right is selected the month is moved forward by a month.
Weekly view
If the number 7 is selected the week’s appointments from Monday to Friday can be viewed.
The Month's view
If the number 7 is selected the week’s appointments from Monday to Friday can be viewed.
Adding an appointment
An appointment can be added from the calendar. Suppose you wish to schedule an office
meeting every Thursday at 5pm for two months. Click the mouse on 5PM.
Crete appointment
A "create appointment" popup window is displayed, with three tabs. The
appointment tab is where you can fill in details of the meeting like type, start date,
duration and so forth. A small note can also be added if required.
The linked records tab
The second tab the Linked records tab is where the user can add other users, accounts,
contacts & opportunities to the appointment.To add a user simply click on the icon next to
users.
Choose user
A pop up shows up with all the user names that can be added to this user. Click on the users to be added.
Result of selection
The four users selected appear in the Users box, showing that the appointment is now linked to 4 more users. Similarly Accounts, contacts and Opportunities can be linked.
The repetition tab
The repetition window allows the user to select if the appointment is to be repeated weekly, monthly, yearly or if it is a one time appointment. Since the user here wants a meeting every Thursday, the weekly and Thursday Button is selected. On the right is a date chooser where the month and date the repetition is to end is selected. The arrows shows the date the repetition is scheduled to end.
Save details of appointment
Click on save and in one click all the information entered in the three different tabs will be saved.
