SFCRM can be deployed on any hardware/software server platform that supports Java 1.3 or higher. In particular, this includes the Windows family of operating systems (Windows NT, Windows 2000 and Windows XP) and Linux systems (any distribution, including Red Hat, Mandrake, SUSE and Debian). And, of course, it also includes almost all higher-end Sun, IBM and HP systems.

For Intel-based hardware, we recommend a 1.5GHz or better Pentium or Athlon processor with 512MB or memory and 40GB of hard drive space. Such a hardware configuration typically supports upto 25 users while retaining page response times under two seconds.

The standard SFCRM package comes with all the software components you need to get up and running immediately. (The only exception is the Java Runtime Environment, which is freely available, e.g., from the Java website.) The package includes a full SQL92-compliant relational database engine to store the application's data. This means that, other than your operating system, you do not need any other software components to deploy SFCRM.

To access the SFCRM application, all you need is a browser. In fact, SFCRM supports not only Microsoft Internet Explorer, but any DOM-compliant browser, including Mozilla, Firefox, Safari and Konqueror. The user interface for SFCRM is very lightweight, using only standard HTML and Javascript, with no plugins required on the client side.
